The Aboriginal flag: The flag was originally designed as a protest flag for the land and the Aborigine’s rights, but now it gets used as a symbol of the Aboriginal people. It was designed by an Aboriginal artist called Harold Thomas in 1971. The flag is divided into two; one black and one red part. In the middle there is a yellow circle. The black colour represents the Aboriginal people of Australia. The red colour represents the red earth, ochre and a spiritual relation to the land. The yellow circle represents the sun, the giver of life and protector.
